Synopsis of ZOOM by Incog. 'Nito

ZOOM is based on the exceptional, self-made black man, Trenton Woods. Since an infant, he struggled for decades to find his place in a world of startling hardships predestined his birth. With a strict upbringing, where discipline paralleled love, protection, and abuse, he feared telling of the sexual abuse he endured from the tender age of four. Silenced by fear and shame, he eventually erupted and began to self destruct without warning or reason. His personal development had been crippled.

In hopes to overcome the inflicted afflictions encrypted in his head for at least a decade beyond his natural sexual maturity, he became incognito, concealing his repulsing childhood in a show of achievements and confidence. What you saw was all you got. He fought relentlessly to break the “phase” he felt he’d become imprisoned in for so long. But, the thoughts continued to fester to no avail. Undeservingly scarred, he attempted to play out his feelings, only to be duped over and over. He was naive and then inevitably trapped into a cycle of taboos, but once again appeared a glimmer of hope. “In the Blink of an Eye” he would see his life change before his eyes once again, forever.

Incog. ‘Nito – I am distinguished as the Author who shrouds his face.

I have lived my life to this day in the same manner, concealing my discontent with a smile and the cover of my natural masculinity. A writer by fate, I was born in the Deep South and raised around broken souls and extraordinary minds. Never picking up a novel since fifth grade and a high-school drop out, I write from my own perspective. In life, I’ve experienced extraordinary events of the unusual kinds, some induced, others inflicted upon myself. So, I share the journeys into my oddity with a purpose and hold you there.

Never being a reader, I refuse to pick up a novel until my complete story is told. I stumbled upon writing and do not wish to become contaminated with other styles and voices. I write from a masculine point of view, but with a compassionate heart. My content is explicit and it creates a pulse. It’s not for the biased or the faint of heart. You can loose your breath. It’s not my intent to corrupt the mind with erotic content, but to re-convey the depths of my moments- in its raw luster.

I don’t write to smear or defame, so I fictionalize specific elements to protect those whom I love and have loved. I write with the purpose of being understood someday and to help others who internalize and feel as if no one understands what they are going through. ZOOM is not just a story, but time passages of my survival that parallels so many others who also live their lives hiding in plain sight. So, with the power of expression gifted to me, before you I unmask and give it to you raw and uncut – scripted incognito.
